The Linda Clemens Breast Cancer Foundation
In 2011 I realized one of my lifelong goals when I co-founded a Connecticut non-profit breast cancer foundation in memory of my late mother, Linda. In early 2009, Rosanne Palazzolo, a friend, client, and breast cancer survivor, asked if I'd like to organize and host a breast cancer benefit with her. The event was so successful that together, and with the love and support of several other extraordinary women, we founded The Linda Clemens Breast Cancer Foundation, a non-profit organization funded through private donations, one event at a time whose mission is to provide comfort and support to local, Connecticut women battling breast cancer.
To date, The Linda Clemens Breast Cancer Foundation has grown beyond our wildest dreams, affording us the ability to contribute funding to create multiple community initiatives with the following local organizations: the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer at Hartford Hospital, The Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital, Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and ECHN. Most recently, we partnered with the University of Connecticut and founded the Linda Clemens Early Detection Fund at the Neag Comprehensive Cancer at UConn Health Center to provide free mammograms and, if necessary, biopsies for the un- and under-insured.
The Linda Clemens Breast Cancer Foundation has been featured on NBC Connecticut, WFSB 3 Connecticut, and WTIC Fox CT.
